Fake lawyerapprehended in Lagos


30 year old Daniel Ikhidenor Ikhuoria from Ekpoma Edo State, who has been practicing law illegally since 2011 has been apprehended by the police attached to the Igbosere High Court Lagos Island,
PM News reports
The suspected fake lawyer was arrested when he came in as a lawyer for a court hearing. His moves were suspected by an orderly attached to the Appeal
Court, DCR Office, who got him arrested.
Upon his arrest, he was interrogated and is alleged to have confessed to the fact that he had never trained as a lawyer but didn't know it was an offense to pose as a lawyer and represent clients in court without training or authority. Continue...
According to PM News, following his arrest, the state branch chairman of
Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr. Alex Morka, was contacted about the development and he instructed the police orderly to take the suspect tothe nearest police station.
In his alleged confessional statement to the police, the suspect allegedly said: “Ihave been practicing as a  lawyer since 2011 and I have represented clients at the magistrate, high court and Federal high courts without any problem. But I have never attended law school or any institution to read law in my life but Iwas called to the bar through a sourceat a high court in 2011. I bought the
gown and wig in the open market and wore it and started practicing as a lawyer. I did not know that it is an
offence to practice as a lawyer without authority. I promise to change if I am set free.”
An act punishable under section 378(1),78(b) and 327 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2011, the police charged him before a Tinubu Magistrate court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him and was placed on a 500,000 bail which he could not meet up with.
He is currently been remanded at theIkoyi Prison until the case would be
heard again on the 3rd of March 2014.

Weapons found onrapper 2 Chainz tour bus


(AP) POLICE discovered two semi-automatic pistols and a 12-gauge pump shotgun along with some
prescription painkillers and marijuana residue on a tour bus occupied by rapper 2 Chainz and 10 other men,
according to court documents.
The men were arrested on August 22 after refusing to get off the bus following a traffic stop.
The 35-year-old rapper, whose real name is Tauheed Epps, had performed with Lil
Wayne and T.I. in Oklahoma City the night before. 2 Chainz and the others were charged with obstructing a police officer. All were released after paying $US2,000 ($A2,236) bail.
Local newspaper The Oklahoman reports police who searched the bus found two .40-calibre semi-automatic pistols and a partial box of ammunition for them, according to the documents. Twenty shells for the 12-gauge shotgun also were seized.
Police found the prescription medications hydrocodone and Flexeril but without prescriptions, according to the search warrant return.
 Officers also reported discovering marijuana residue along with metal grinders and smoking papers with
marijuana residue.
An affidavit filed last week says an officer pulled over the bus on Interstate 40 because its rear taillights weren’tworking.
The officer smelled marijuana when the driver opened the door, the affidavit says, and the officer “could actually see smoke inside the bus around the door.”
The affidavit also says a passenger on the bus, Abdullah Mujahid, shook his head “no” when he was ordered to get off and held up a small copy of the US Constitution.
The Atlanta-based rapper, initially knownas Tity Boi, was a member of the rap duo Playaz Circle before going solo. His 2012 debut album, Based on a T.R.U. Story, topped the Billboard charts . His new
album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, is set to be released.
He has also collaborated with many big stars, including R. Kelly, Drake andfeatures on Jason DeRulo’s current hit
Talk Dirty.
