Nollywood Actor Arrested for rape!

News from Naija has it that Nollywood actor, Ganiyu Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ogunjimi was last week arrested for allegedly raping his daughter’s friend in Osogbo, Osun State.

The actor was arrested and detained on Tuesday by the Osun State Police Command after a 22-year-old lady (names withheld) laid a rape complaint at the police station.

The case has, however, been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Osun for further investigation.

Reports say doctors have confirmed that the victim was violated by Ogunjimi. The actor was said to have been responsible for the upkeep of the lady and her mother who until recently lived withhim in his Osogbo residence.

The victim’s mother had left her with Ogunjimi in Osogbo and relocated to Lagos before the incident occurred.

A senior police officer at the Oke Bale Police Division where Ogunjimi was taken after his arrest told reporters that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), transferred the case to the SCID due to the overwhelming pressure mounted on him to release the suspect.

Osun Police Public Relations Officer, Folashade Odoro who confirmed that the case had been reported to the police, also confirmed that the popular Yoruba actor was being detained at the SCID, Osogbo.

NAIJAAA! Woman Raped on her way to Church

Reports from Nigeria hasvit that,Residents of the Upper Adesuwa area of  Benin City, the capital of Edo, were met with a rude shock when the lifeless body of a young rape victim was found.

Deborah Bassey was said to have been heading for a vigil in her church when she was attacked and raped to death.Her body was found naked near a welder’s workshop.

A large crowd of passers-by and sympathisers gathered to catch a glimpse of the lifeless body of the late Miss Bassey, which was found naked by a welder’s workshop.

A member of the Church who spoke on the condition of anonymity, that, “somebody ran to the church early in the morning to inform us that our member’s body is lying dead by a welder’s workshop and we immediately rushed to scene only to discover that it was our member(Deborah).

“This is the most mindless act by a fellow human being, how could they have raped her and even killed her at the same time?

We pray that God will accept her soul and avenge her death.”At the time of filing in this report, the deceased’s body had been removed by men of the state policecommand to an undisclosed mortuary.
